Superior Wind Turbines conducting meteorological studies

Small changes in wind speed make a huge difference in electrical power generated. Doubling the wind speed means kilowatts per hour can increase as much as eight times. The difference between 11mph average annual wind speed and 13mph can mean the difference of several years in regards to a customers return on investment for a wind turbine system.

Superior wind turbines is now conducting site specific wind studies in order to determine the economics for residential customers. While we can look at wind resource maps and determine that the West Michigan area receives 11mph to 13mph annually, that does not by any means tell the whole story. When it comes to working with our customers we want much more information regarding wind speed and frequency and the tower height needed to maximize efficiency.

These wind studies cost between $2000 and $3000 but are well worth it when it comes to sizing 5kW or larger systems. And can mean the difference of thousands of dollars saved or lost.
